Mindset is everything

How my mindset changed my life.

At the end of 2018 there was a massive shift for me.  The beginning of that year I'd had a baby (under pretty traumatic circumstances), I had a case of post natal depression and at the same time, my business took off dramatically.  I was completely overwhelmed.

Waah waah - poor me right?  In all seriousness that's how I felt. Woe is me, the world is against me.  Although post natal depression is no joke, I definitely had a can't do attitude to go with it. 

It seems ridiculously simple but the thing that changed everything was discovering self-development books.  Say what you will about them, feeding your mind with positive thoughts and stories of how others reached success, is completely contagious.  Working on my personal growth was not something I'd been consciously aware of doing before this and it was a total game-changer.  Practicing gratitude daily, training your mind to see the best in everything (trust me - it's an ongoing process) and not allowing others to affect your emotions where possible is actually life changing.

The way you treat yourself also is a major factor in mindset.  Be kind, don't beat yourself up if you didn't manage to get a workout in that day, switch your phone off,  tell yourself nothing is impossible, just be for a while.  Still to this day I have people around me who doubt that things can ever happen for them - 'I'll never make that kind of money/live in that kind of house/have that kind of freedom.'  

It's ok if that's the way they want to live - let them. I choose to see things differently.  The truth is, they can earn that kind of money or live in the house they always dreamed of it simply takes a certain mindset.
